The internet hasn’t been friendly with Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four since day one, and with the movie opening in less than a week, everyone still seems pretty baffled by it. What is this movie? What really went on behind the scenes? Is it good? Can it be good? And why does Deadpool pop up at the end of this new extended trailer?

This preview isn’t going to answer any of those questions, but it does feel like one last desperate attempt to convince everyone that this movie is worth seeing. It’s certainly a well-cut trailer, laying out of the first act of the film and introducing the major players before transforming into a montage of punching and exploding and flaming-on. This trailer is Fox’s marketing department going all-in. If you aren’t interested in Fantastic Four after this, you probably aren’t going to be interested at all.

Oh, and Deadpool shows up at the end of this trailer to inform everyone that the trailer for his new movie will be attached to Fantastic Four in theaters (and he throws in an erection joke for good measure), because somehow the Deadpool movie has more buzz than Fantastic Four.

Here’s the official synopsis for Fantastic Four:

Fantastic Four, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.

Fantastic Four opens this Friday. Go see it? Maybe?
