A new international trailer for Fantastic Four has arrived online, giving us another proper introduction to the team and another good look at the villainous Dr. Doom, who — you had to admit — looks much better than the version from the previous Fantastic Four movies.

There’s some new footage in this international trailer, which once again plays up the drama — Miles Teller’s Reed Richards is a man who wants to help change the world for the better, but when Richards and his new team break into inter-dimensional travel, they themselves return changed. Unable to “fix” his friends, the quartet learn to embrace their powers and use them for good, primarily in their fight against Doom.

Josh Trank’s reboot of Fantastic Four looks almost too serious sometimes, though there is a hint of witty banter between the gang, including Michael B. Jordan’s Johnny Storm and Kate Mara’s Sue Storm. There’s still not much of Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm, though we do get another peek at The Thing. I’m more interested in Toby Kebbell as Victor Domashev, aka Dr. Doom. Kebbell is often an under-appreciated actor here in the states, but he’s an incredibly compelling performer — just watch his episode of Black Mirror.

FANTASTIC FOUR, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.

Fantastic Four also stars Reg E. Cathey as Dr. Franklin Storm and Tim Blake Nelson as Harvey Elder (aka Mole Man, though we won’t see that alter ego in this film), and arrives in theaters on August 7.
