Just when you thought the back half of The Walking Dead Season 6 would bring enough zombies our way, Fear will strike again in April. AMC has officially set a Season 2 premiere for the prequel zombie thriller, splitting its extended episode order, and granting its own Talking Dead to boot. Technically … Fear the Talking Dead?

Just ahead of AMC’s presentation at the 2016 TCA press tour panel (yep, those words again), the Walking Dead network confirmed that its Fear companion series would return on April 10, one week after the Season 6 finale of its progenitor. Given the extended 15-episode order, AMC will break up the season by airing the first seven episodes, and the latter eight at a different time.

Also worth noting, the second season will feature Chris Hardwick’s Talking Dead after every episode, rather than the solitary post-finale outing of Season 1. Moving to Mexico for a more aquatic production, so reads the Season 2 synopsis of Fear The Walking Dead:

Season one left off with Madison (Kim Dickens), Travis (Cliff Curtis) and their extended family taking temporary shelter in Strand’s (Colman Domingo) gated estate overlooking the Pacific Ocean. As civil unrest continues to grow and the dead take over Los Angeles, Strand prepares to escape to “Abigail,” his large yacht moored offshore.

We’ll learn more in the move toward April (the series presumably also added a new character from Flight 462), but will Fear The Walking Dead fare any better in Season 2?
