The Flash had enough timey-wimey troubles before The CW confirmed Barry’s Legends of Tomorrow involvement, but the whole DC TV universe may be in a “Flashpoint” crisis after next week’s finale. Find out if Barry is “Fast Enough” in a new trailer and photos, and see if a major Legends of Tomorrow easter egg holds a clue!

You’re warned of potential Flash spoilers from here on out, but with Harrison Wells / Eobard Thawne / Reverse Flash safely behind glass, Barry will next set his sights on running “Fast Enough” to return to the past and save his mother. The latest trailer and photos throw quite a few wrenches into that plan however, teasing Harrison’s inevitable escape, some major calamity afflicting Central City, and a clear-as-day future Flash (note the white logo) being erased from existence.

So reads The Flash’s official synopsis for its first season finale:

EPIC SEASON FINALE; VICTOR GARBER AND ROBBIE AMELL GUEST STAR

Wells (Tom Cavanagh) presents Barry (Grant Gustin) with a life-changing choice. Dr. Martin Stein (guest star Victor Garber) and Ronnie Raymond (guest star Robbie Amell) return to help the S.T.A.R. Labs team with this final fight.

But wait, there’s more! The presence of Reverse Flash in yesterday’s Legends of Tomorrow trailer suggested that we might actually be seeing footage from The Flash finale, given at least some of the Legends are already rumored to put in an appearance. One obscured image from the footage set off DC fan alarms however, as confirmed in a recent BTS pic, none other than the helmet belonging to Jay Garrick, the Golden Age Flash!

Assuming the Eobard we’ve met somehow obtains access to a time machine in the Flash finale (definitively note the particle accelerator unit above him), it remains unclear what the presence of Garrick’s helmet would suggest. Comic fans might recognize that a “Flash Museum” eventually exists in the character’s history, but how might it explain Garrick’s existence, and the helmet haphazardly strewn within the particle accelerator as well?

However The Flash finale shakes out, you can check out the full photo set below, in addition to the trailer above. Will The CW’s super-series stumble through the finish line, or keep stride enough to set up our Legends of Tomorrow?
