This week marks the arrival of thousands of cosplayers, fans, and gamma ray-fueled heroes in New York City for New York Super Week --- starting today --- and the 10th annual New York Comic-Con. The city will undoubtedly be packed with enthusiasts of every fandom, but NYCC and Super Week festivities aside, New York is already a treasure trove of geeky gems.

To help guide you through Gotham’s geek-friendly hangouts, the folks at Foursquare and ReedPOP have joined forces to create the Ultimate Geek Guide to New York --- an infographic map that highlights some nerd-tastic, comic-centric hidden gems, stores, bars, restaurants, and museums to visit during the week’s festivities.

If you’re looking to escape the Javits Center and explore what the Big Apple has to offer, this guide may come in handy. From Mission Chinese Food’s Twin Peaks-themed cocktails, to the The Way Station, a bar with its own TARDIS, this list will help you get into the Comic-Con spirit.

Some of our favorite spots include the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art (MoCCA), and the famous Brooklyn Superhero Supply Co., which sells real (fake) superhero supplies and doubles as a non-profit teaching storytelling skills to young people. For night spots, you might want to check out Barcade, the East Williamsburg joint packed with retro arcade games, or Gotham City Lounge in Bushwick, with its comic book-themed decor.

Be sure to check out the map above, which features a numbered list of these hot-spots and more. As an added bonus, Foursquare created a handy in-app list with all of these locations so users can see ratings, useful tips and more. Happy Hunting!
