Following the well-received launch of Lazarus, Greg Rucka is continuing his focus on creator-owned comics, as today Dark Horse announced Veil, a five issue miniseries written by Rucka and illustrated by Toni Fejzula. The series marks the award-winning writer's first creator-owned collaboration with Dark Horse.

The project was announced at the ICv2 presentation at New York Comic Con, and a post on CBR described the story: "A beautiful girl wakes up in an abandoned subway station with no memory of how she got there. When men try to hurt her . . . they wind up dead. Where did she come from? And what is she capable of?"

Dark Horse Editor-in-Chief Scott Allie told CBR that the protagonist of Veil fits perfectly "in a lineup that includes Buffy, Kelly Sue [DeConnick's] Ghost and Serenity's River Tam. What you see here at first is a vulnerable young woman, especially on that first cover -- but this is Greg Rucka, so obviously there's a lot more to her. All I can say is, she's not what you expect, and it's an honor to add a creator-owned book from Greg to our roster."

Veil #1 goes on sale in March.
