Okay. This is getting a little meta - and a little terrifying...In celebration of the 30th anniversary of Gundam plastic models, Bandai Namco is bringing forth an all new anime titled "Mokei Senshi Gunpla Builder Beginning G," all about a young boy named Haru who gets his kicks out of building Gundam models. Yes, really. But things take a twist when Haru and his Gundam-building pals learn that they can scan their models and control them via an arcade simulator, leading to epic battles and signature awesome anime theme music.

But, really, can you deny the Gundam revolution? Between the gigantic Gundam robot, remote-controlled mini Gundams and now a television series glorifying the practice of building Gundam action figures, it's clear (to me at least) that Bandai Namco is making their move towards mecha dominance. Fans of the Gundam franchise are undoubtedly ecstatic about this news. For everyone else - for those of us who are aware of what's going on - it's a constant reminder that a giant metal foot could crash through your ceiling at the whim of a tween pilot.
