As polarizing as the 2003 Ren & Stimpy "Adult Party Cartoon" episodes were, the influence of the original series -- along with many other works by John Kricfalusi and his studio, Spumco -- remain seared in the souls of any living being who has watched much animation in the past three decades or so. You just can't shake Spumco's whiplash style. Tapping into this universal truth, IDW Publishing and Yoe Books have announced plans to recollect the Spumco comics originally printed by Dark Horse, along with previously unreleased material, for a full-color, 160-page John K. Presents Spumco Comic Book deluxe hardcover starring the likes of Jim Smith, Vincent Waller, Mike Fontanelli, Shane Glines, Rich Pursel and others.

From IDW's official press release:

This collection even has a never-before-published story! This will be the first time Jimmy the Drooling Numbskull in nutty the Friendly Dump has ever been printed!

Lined with the works of Spumco greats like Jim Smith, Vincent Waller, Mike Fontanelli, Shane Glines, Rich Pursel, and more, this book is a must-own for animation aficionados and comics fans of all stripes!

The new collection is set to arrive in stores on February 27, with a price tag of $34.99 - about $100 cheaper than all of the original material can be had on eBay.
