Marvel’s ‘Jessica Jones’ is Super-Strong, Super-Groggy in First Footage
Marvel’s Netflix Jessica Jones took her sweet time in delivering actual photos from the forthcoming Defenders series, but ahead of the cast’s arrival at New York Comic-Con 2015, we finally have our first footage. A new Jessica Jones teaser shows the down-and-out superheroine displaying her super-strength, and boy, does she hate alarm clocks.
As curiously revealed over a Spanish-language Marvel Facebook page, our first look at official Jessica Jones footage sees Kristen Ritter’s ex-superhero struggling to wake up at 3:00 in the afternoon, liquor bottles and discarded clothing strewn about, before smashing the alarm clock with her super strength. It’s certainly a different angle for the MCU to take on superpowered heroes, Daredevil included, but one we’re excited for nonetheless.
So reads Marvel’s official Jessica Jones synopsis:
After a tragic ending to her short-lived super hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City.
Premiering all 13 episodes on November 20, Marvel’s Jessica Jones features Kristen Ritter in the title role, along with Mike Colter as Luke Cage, David Tennant as Zebediah Kilgrave, Rachael Taylor as Patsy “Hellcat” Walker, and Carrie-Ann Moss as the mysterious “Harper”. Run creatively by Melissa Rosenberg, the series also features in recurring roles Eka Darville as Jessica’s neighbor, Erin Moriarty as a client, and Wil Traval as a police officer, while Rosario Dawson has been confirmed to reprise her role as Claire Temple.
