In honor of their 70th anniversary, Marvel has issued several new "decade variant" covers that imagine Marvel characters in some of the most iconic moments of pop culture from the 80s and 90s.

In the "X-Men Legacy" #255 variant, Rogue vogues like Madonna circa 1990.

War Machine loads up on grunge in his imitation of the "Smells Like Teen Spirit" video that launches Kurt Cobain and Nirvana to superstardom in 1991.

The "Marvel Zombies 4" #3 variant takes a page from some of the most famous zombies in pop culture, the dancing undead from Michael Jackson's epic 1983 video "Thriller."

I'm actually not sure what this "Savage She-Hulk #2" variant refers to... Cher? Jem and the Holograms? Any ideas? UPDATE: artist Juan Doe clarifies this cover was intended to "pay reference to a techno inspired flyer with She-Hulk taking on the role of DJ Diva. We never actually based it on any particular or iconic image. It was more to celebrate the rave scene of the 90's."
