We’ve seen Marvel’s Neflix Defenders plans grow beyond the initial 60-episode conception, including a second season for Daredevil and a backdoor inclusion of The Punisher, so might Marvel’s Moon Knight get in on the action? That’s the latest rumor of the day, suggesting one of Marvel’s upcoming series might introduce the character as a test for his own spinoff.

Take this one with a grain of salt for now, as rumors of the Moon Knight character’s MCU debut have swirled around for some time now, though El Mayimbe of Heroic Hollywood recently rehashed the rumor on an episode of Collider Heroes, suggesting that the character could receive similar treatment to The Punisher in an upcoming series. The talk arose in discussion of Marvel’s three unidentified movie slots, during which Mayimbe implied Marvel to have more interest in Moon Knight as a series.

Granted, we don’t necessarily know that Marvel really intends Punisher for his own series after the upcoming Daredevil season, you can listen for yourself around 9:51.

For those unfamiliar with the character often described as “Marvel’s Batman,” former Marine, boxer and mercenary Marc Spector becomes a living avatar for the god “Khonshu,” using a second chance at life to develop a small fortune, and fight crime under the name of Moon Knight, utilizing his impressive training, gadgets, and super-strength derived from the lunar cycle.

Again, we’ve heard Moon Knight talk in one phase or another, and Marvel still seemingly has Iron Fist to get off the ground before adding any additional series to the ranks. We’ll keep an ear to the ground, but would a Moon Knight series make a worthy addition to Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist?
