Following the unfortunate box office performance of Dredd (which CA's own Chris Sims liked quite a bit), fans have appropriately been full of... dread... about the possibility of seeing their favorite futuristic judge doling out vengeance on the big screen. Luckily, it looks like John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra's seminal Judges will finally be leaping from the pages of 2000 AD in the long-awaited Judge Minty, which is set for online release in the coming months.The Judge Minty short fan film has been in the works since 2010, and has been shown in several UK comic conventions since the Leeds Film Festival last November. Scripted by frequent 2000 AD contributor Michael Carroll, and adapting the likewise-titled 1980 storyline by John Wagner and Mike McMahon, the short film's received a fair amount of critical praise. Now, the production team behind it has announced that it will be free to watch on streaming sites like Youtube or Vimeo sometime in either April or May.

In likewise Dredd-focused short film news, producer Adi Shankar revealed in an AMA on Reddit that a feature-length Dredd sequel was not possible, but hinted at a short film in the works, similar to the Dirty Laundry Punisher short.
