Ahead of Captain America: Civil War's Blu-Ray release in September, The Huffington Post spoke with directors Joe and Anthony Russo to clear up some questions we all had at the end of the most recent Avengers installment. One of the final scenes of the movie is Steve Rogers putting down his shield, which made a lot of us wonder if that could mean he's symbolically giving up on his superhero alter-ego.

According to Diesel, Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord won’t be the only Guardian of the Galaxy to appear in Avengers: Infinity War, as the actor claims that the whole team will be joining their occasionally fearless leader for the upcoming MCU event.

It wasn’t exactly surprising when Disney and Marvel officially confirmed that Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1 had dropped the ‘Part 1’ from its title — back in May, director Joe Russo said that both parts would soon be renamed. Not long after, we learned that the first film is now simply titled Avengers: Infinity War, while the sequel’s new title has yet to be revealed. According to the Russo brothers, it may still be quite a while before we learn what’s up with that fourth Avengers movie.

We already know that Avengers: Infinity War will feature the biggest roster of MCU characters yet — even bigger than Captain America: Civil War, no doubt, as Marvel’s next Avengers chapter is set to deliver an epic conclusion to Phase 3 (and finally give Thanos a chance to stretch his space-legs). Now that the studio has scaled the two-parter back to one film, it’s unclear if that lineup will still be as massive as originally planned, but it looks like we know of at least a couple more characters who will return.

Back in May, Joe and Anthony Russo announced that Avengers: Infinity War  -  Part 1 and Avengers: Infinity War  -  Part 2 were due for a name change. According to the Marvel directors, the two films were shaping up to tell two very separate stories, and keeping them grouped under the same subtitle would be misleading to fans. This name change became a reality on Friday, with The Hollywood Reporter announcing that Disney had renamed the former as Avengers: Infinity War and scratched the name for the latter entirely.

The Infinity Gauntlet. An ageless weapon of immense, maybe incalculable power. Once worn, its owner essentially becomes a god. We already know that the soon-to-be-retitled Avengers: Infinity War will unite much of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, boasting the studio’s largest lineup to date. And while James Gunn has no plans to bring other MCU characters over for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, directors Joe and Anthony Russo have hinted that Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord will appear in Infinity War — but he might not be the only Guardian to make that jump.

It’s safe to assume that Captain Marvel will probably make her big screen debut in another Marvel movie before her standalone adventure — but which one? And when? The superhero’s solo outing doesn’t hit theaters until 2019, and it seems unlikely that Marvel would introduce her this year or next, as it would still be a bit too soon for the studio’s other Captain to arrive on the scene. Great news: we can officially stop wondering, as the Russo brothers have apparently given us an answer.

Attention now turning from Civil War to Avengers: Infinity War (or whatever they end up calling it), time and time again Marvel brass have tempered expectations as to whether the climactic MCU event will finally bridge the gulf between movie and TV. Not likely, it seems, as writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely reveal the “nearly impossible” challenge in logistics.
