‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Casts Newcomer Lana Condor as Jubilee

Marvel
Marvel

Jubilee is one of the more wildly divisive characters from X-Men — you either love or loathe her to pieces. Throughout five X-Men films and a few spinoffs, Jubilee has never really been featured, although she did put in some very minor appearances in the first few films. That’s all changing now as director Bryan Singer has cast newcomer Lana Condor as Jubilee for X-Men: Apocalypse.

We’ve heard for some time now that Bryan Singer’s ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ is casting the roles of young Jean Grey, Cyclops, and Storm, as the film will focus more on the younger generation of ‘First Class’ rather than once again uniting both old and new casts. While several names were floated, Fox has officially settled on their choices, with ‘Game of Thrones’ star Sophie Turner set to play Jean, ‘Joe’ star Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, and ‘Aaliyah: Princess of R&B’ star Alexandra Shipp taking on the role of Storm.

Sexual Abuse Allegations Against X-Men Film Director Bryan Singer Dropped By Accuser

Untitled-1

Michael Egan, the former model who filed sexual abuse charges against X-Men: Days Of Future Past director Bryan Singer in civil court, has withdrawn his suit following the recent departure of his former attorney, Jeff Herman. Egan insists that his decision is no reflection on the merits of his case against Singer, and instead reflects his inability to continue without representation.

In Light Of Sex Abuse Allegations, Bryan Singer May Be Fired From Directing ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’

Bryan-Singer-X-Men-Days-of-Future-Past

An unnamed "insider" has told Radar Online that 20th Century Fox is not very comfortable with the idea of X-Men: Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer, who is facing a $75,000 lawsuit claiming he sexually abused a minor, returning to direct the follow-up, X-Men: Apocalypse.

The source said Singer's attorneys are furious because a deal for him to direct the film, an adaptation of the "Age of Apocalypse" storyline from the X-Men comics, was inked months ago.

Hi, I’m The Guy Who Didn’t Like ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’

Untitled-1

Everyone loves X-Men: Days of Future Past. It's a box office hit, already raking in more than $500m worldwide. It's a critical hit, earning a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. REVIEW: ‘Crisis On Infinite X-Men Movies’ or: ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ [Spoilers]

Untitled-1

Directed by Bryan Singer, X-Men: Days of Future Past is the thirty-seventh in 20th Century Fox’s series of X-Men films based on the Marvel Comics franchise originated by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee. It is owing to the series’ bitterly old age that the new film is almost totally devoted to reconciling the conflicting plots and divergent timelines of its predecessors. In this very hilarious way, Days of Future Past is the most faithful adaptation to date, having actually translated to film that most core concept of X-Men comics: hopelessly confusing and eternally jacked up continuity.
