Ant-Man director Peyton Reed recently confirmed his return to helm the sequel, which will feature Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly reprising their roles as Ant-Man and the Wasp in the appropriately-titled Ant-Man and the Wasp. While we haven’t gotten confirmation that any of their co-stars from the first film will be joining them, Michael Douglas seems to suggest that we can count on another appearance from Hank Pym.
Typically when an actor signs on to star in a Marvel film, they’re also signing on to appear in several more films — these can be sequels, or cameos and supporting roles in other MCU films. Somehow Michael Douglas didn’t have to make that deal, as the actor reveals that he hasn’t signed on for any Ant-Man sequels, though he would very much like to return to the MCU if and when possible.
If you’d like to save a little surprise for yourself when you see Ant-Man next month, then consider this a fair warning — this post contains a spoiler for Marvel’s next superhero film. Although we’re not likely to see any MCU crossovers in Ant-Man, there is one more hero that will make an appearance in the film, albeit very briefly, and it’s someone fans have been wondering about since the film was announced.
It’s become a trend for studios to release new teasers and trailers skewed towards celebrating various holidays (last year’s Christmas “card” from The Babadook was particularly inspired). And while some of these promos aren’t so great, this new Ant-Man trailer from Marvel is a pretty nice Father’s Day gift.
Heroes don’t get any bigger — or any smaller — than Ant-Man. At least that’s what the various trailers and TV spots for Marvel’s latest superhero movie have been telling us for a few months now. The latest TV spot has arrived to get you amped for the release of Marvel’s second new film this year. Is it already almost July? Man, this summer is going by fast.
We are now officially in the midst of Marvel’s big marketing push up to the release of Ant-Man, which means more photos, TV spots, behind the scenes featurettes, et al. Marvel has just unleashed a dozen new official stills from the upcoming film, featuring our pint-sized, mega-powered hero along with a few of his friends (and enemies).
Now that Avengers: Age of Ultron is out in the world, it’s time for Marvel to buckle down and start really promoting Ant-Man. With the new superhero making his debut in just a couple of months, now’s about the time for the studio to start flooding the media with new images, TV spots and featurettes. Today brings three new images from the upcoming film, featuring the tiny versions of the titular hero and his nemesis, Yellowjacket.
The new Ant-Man TV spot isn’t going to change the minds of those not already initiated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe cult, but it's going to remind everyone that Peyton Reed’s superhero heist movie looks like a lot more fun than its troubled production would suggest. Everything that makes Marvel Studios what it is is crammed into these 60 seconds: stylish action, attractive leading men and ladies, a big name actor classing up the joint, and a just-goofy-enough sense of humor.
It’s here. It’s finally here. The first trailer for Marvel’s ‘Ant-Man’ arrived during tonight’s two-hour ‘Agent Carter’ premiere. If for some strange reason you didn’t tune in to see Peggy Carter’s television debut (what’s your excuse?), the trailer has arrived online for your viewing pleasure. Following Marvel’s clever tiny teaser marketing, you’ll be pleased to watch Paul Rudd’s heroics in this regular-sized trailer.
Former LOST star Evangeline Lilly could soon be blowing up in the size-changing world of Marvel's Ant-Man movie. According to Variety, The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug star could follow Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas and Michel Pena as an official cast member, although her specific role hasn't been announced. The "insider" word is that Lilly's character could be Pym's daughter and Lang's love interest. If true, that could mean a dramatic reworking of Janet Van Dyne's character -- a founding member of The Avengers who has until now been left out of the Marvel movie universe. Of course, it could be an original character and Janet could remain left out of Ant-Man's movie lore.
