Generally whenever superhero series bring in other established heroes for a season, it’s to test the water for a spinoff. We’ve seen it with Flash from Arrow, Punisher from Daredevil, and potentially now Ghost Rider from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as well. Star Gabriel Luna is certainly up for the possibility, explaining there are “deals in place,” should the need arise.

Take this with a grain of salt for the moment, as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has already tried (and failed) to launch one spinoff, and itself may not stick around beyond many additional seasons, but whispers of a Ghost Rider spinoff have certainly been on fans’ lips. Gabriel Luna’s portrayal of the Robbie Reyes Ghost Rider has garnered significant acclaim, and the actor tells ComicBook.com that potential deals are in place for a spinoff, whether ABC, Netflix or otherwise:

It could be in the cinema, it could live on Netflix, whatever it is … It’s been talked about, there’s definitely deals in place for that potential. But I just take it one day at a time. I have so much fun now I just want to make sure I get these episodes right. If they throw more episodes on my plate, I will do my best to do well with those stories as well.

For the moment at least, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is barely through its fourth season, let alone preparing to shuffle off Ghost Rider, but should Marvel decide to expand the character, which medium might it use? Will Johnny Blaze be along for the ride?
