Custom Toy Making Goes Mego, Rejoicing Ensues

Mego action figures have experienced something of a resurgence lately, with new "Lost" and "Venture Bros." toys coming out in the old school style courtesy of Big Bang Pow. But sometimes, the Mego brand can extend beyond officially produced material - sometimes, it's a style best left to the devices of custom toy makers.

Todd Waters of Illegal Mego, for instance, has taken matters into his own hands by constructing a wide array of custom made Mego action figures from all walks of popular culture. Some highlights within the comic book realm include multiple versions of Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Black Widow and even Icarus from "The Eternals," while beyond comics, Waters has crafted his own Jack Torrance from "The Shining," Freddy Krueger from "A Nightmare on Elm Street" and Rick Deckard from "Blade Runner."
