Although I'll be damned if I can find it, we're reliably informed by Batman News that one of the teaser banners released last week in support of The Dark Knight Rises came with a hidden QR code that, when scanned, directed visitors to the film's official website and yet another poster for the new Batman film, this one featuring Catwoman. Or at least, Catwoman's stiletto heel. Check out the full image below, as well as some additional images and video.

I remain incredulous as to the appropriateness of Catwoman's conspicuously high heeled boots in what's otherwise been a more or less plausible costuming pattern in the Batman films of director Christopher Nolan, but this poster -- arguably the best one yet for The Dark Knight Rises, and definitely from the Frank Miller school -- is handsome enough to justify the apparent impracticality. I'm also a big fan of the Batman symbol in the lipstick, yet another in a long series of whimsical ways designers have been able to sneak that iconic emblem into photographs and posters.

Also released over the long weekend were some alternate designs to some previously released images as well as the third and fourth television spots for the new film. I'm in as much of a spoiler lockdown mode as I can be, given my job, so I'm just going to put a big, nasty SPOILER WARNING in front of these videos and you lot can discuss the contents amongst yourselves.

Originally created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, Catwoman is played in the new film by Anne Hathaway, alongside Christian Bale as Batman and Tom Hardy as Bane. The Dark Knight Rises opens July 20 in the U.S.
