Lego Marvel’s Avengers Recruits Agent Carter, Fin Fang Foom and More
The roster for Lego Marvel's Avengers is going to be one of the largest yet for TT Games' Lego series. With each passing entry, the developer tries its hardest to outdo itself, and it's not all that hard when you have as vast a catalog of heroes and villains as Marvel has built up over the years. TT Games has also always prided itself in being able to mix in a lot of the more popular characters, such as your Iron Mans and your Captain Americas, with some lesser-known deep cuts like Damage Control and Mastermind in the previous game, Lego Marvel Super Heroes.
With this upcoming entry, that same attention to detail on both sides of the character coin is returning. A lot has happened in the Marvel Universes, both comic and cinematic, since TT last dabbled with the brand, and today's new character reveals show that there's not a single stone the developer won't unturn if it makes for a fun new addition to the roster.
The two most important characters joining in on the action this January are obviously Fin Fang Foom and Agent Peggy Carter. Yeah sure, Korvac is certainly someone who exists, but to consider him on the same level as the likes of a big, green dragon in purple shorts and the toughest lady to ever wear a red fedora (come at me, Carmen) is a grave mistake. Maybe Devil Dinosaur and Moon Boy could be in the running from this batch of characters, but even then it would have to be the Nextwave version of Devil Dinosaur, what with his smoking jacket and all.
The remaining roster moves, including Crimson Dynamo, Wendigo, Iron Man MK XXVIII (Igor), Skaar and Mantis are sure to make some fans happy. It might actually be fun to run around the open-world New York with more than a few of these folks. Still, with people like Kamala Khan and Sam Wilson now joined by Peggy and Foom, it's going to be awful hard for me to care about anyone else.
Lego Marvel's Avengers is due out on a variety of platforms Jan. 26.
