The weird thing about Knight Rider is that the sentient talking car is actually the least weird part of the show. I mean, the core premise is that a cop who got shot in the face survived and was given plastic surgery to look like some rich dude's son, a son who would later escape from an African prison and then terrorize the American West with a bulletproof semi-truck --- and that's before you get to that one episode where you find out that, for some reason, the people who built KITT the Talking Car programmed him to be able to feel fear.

What I'm getting at here is that when Geoffrey Thorne, Shannon Eric Denton, Jason Johnson, and Brian Denham got the job of bringing Knight Rider to the page for publisher Lion Forge, the bar for weirdness was set pretty high, and next week, when the paperback collection of the series hits shelves, we all get to see how they did.

I will say, though, that since this series opens with a man arguing with a car that can quote Aristotle and is worried about its mother, they're probably off to a pretty good start. Check out a preview below!

Secret agent Michael Knight just wants to take his girlfriend Katherine out for a night on the town. The bad news is that Katherine is also a brilliant scientist whom he's been assigned to protect, along with her top-secret Project: Rider - not a good combination for a romantic evening!  When a team of mercenaries crashes their date, it's up to Michael and the mysterious Bishop to keep Katherine safe and the project under wraps. What follows is a high-speed race through the streets and mountains of California in which loyalties are tested, alliances betrayed, and a global conspiracy is revealed. And, of course, at least one incredible talking car! All the turbo-charged thrill of the classic TV series is back in this high-tech spy-fi adventure!
