Though Hasbro has been taking its sweet time making its annual San Diego Comic-Con exclusive announcements, the few that have made it out into the wild have been rather exciting. Not only are we finally getting things like a classic trilogy Obi-Wan Kenobi, but a GI Joe an the Transformers set with transforming vehicles for the Joes and Cobra to ride in. The Marvel side of things has been relatively mum, but yesterday the first Marvel Legends exclusive did manage to break free from the depths of space.

Coming to Comic-Con in a few weeks will be The Collector's Vault, a box set of 3.75" Marvel Legends with a bit of a cosmic bent. At the center of it all is the Collector, who you may recall from his brief stints in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or as the man in charge of the Contest of Champions (both the comic and the game). He's got a few friends and relics to add to the mix, too.

Inside the fresh packaging, which makes it appear as if all the characters are trapped in the Collector's Vault (ooooooooooh, now I get it), you'll find Howard the Duck, Lockjaw, Moon Boy, Cosmo and a trifecta of legendary items --- the Zodiac Key, the Wand of Watoomb, and the Casket of Ancient Winters. It appears that only the Collector, Moon Boy and Lockjaw have any articulation, which is a bit of a bummer for Howard and Cosmo. I get that at the 3.75" scale they're extra small, meaning articulation would have been a challenge, but being able to pose them would have been nice. The poses they're stuck in will just have to do I suppose.

That said, the Lockjaw and Collector figures do look sharpish, with the Collector getting a rather detailed sculpt. Lockjaw doesn't fare poorly though, and the figure definitely captures everything great about the Inhuman. Moon Boy's inclusion is definitely intriguing, if only to give us the thought that eventually Hasbro may go all out on a Devil Dinosaur figure of some kind... hopefully boxed with a Lunella Lafayette. At 3.75" scale, it wouldn't be that outrageous.

The Marvel Legends The Collector's Vault will be available at booth 3329 during San Diego Comic-Con for $69.99. It will also be available at Fan Expo Canada in September. A select number will be made available at Hasbro Toy Shop after SDCC.
