Namco Bandai Games will launch a webcomics publishing effort known as ShiftyLook in March, aiming to revive interest in its dormant game properties by adapting them to new comic stories that will be available online and on mobile devices. Each series will receive twice a week over a three-month span. In an interview with Anime News Network, ShiftyLook's Rob Pereyda explained that titles that prove popular enough will have a crack at continuing even further in the form of more webcomics, printed collected material, animation, mobile games, merchandise and/or even a new console game. The first title, Sky Kid, will be written by Jim Zub with art by Jeffrey "Chamba" Cruz through Udon. The second ShiftyLook adaptation, Xevious, will be helmed by writer Mike Costa and artist Mike Norton via Cryptozoic Entertainment. A third title is slated to be revealed soon. You can check out larger promo art alongside classic NES game footage from Sky Kid and Xevious after the jump.
