New Comic Book Releases For November 9 2016
The question most often asked of the ComicsAlliance staff is a variation of, “Which comic books should I be reading?” or, “I’m new to comics, what’s a good place to start?” The Wednesday deluge of new comic books, graphic novels and collected editions can be daunting even for the longtime reader, much less for those totally unfamiliar with creators, characters and publishers, and the dark mysteries of comic book shopping like variants, pre-ordering, and formats. It’s with these challenges in mind that we’ve created Best Comic Books Ever (This Week), an ongoing guide curated by the ComicsAlliance staff. This is where new comics readers and seasoned Wednesday shoppers alike can find our picks of the best books the medium has to offer.

'WWE: Then. Now. Forever.' #1 Is Weird In All The Right Ways
Ahead of the launch of Boom Studios' officially licensed WWE comic, the publisher has released a jam-packed one-shot titled WWE: Then Now Forever, which features a story about the final days of The Shield by Dennis Hopeless and Dan Mora, and a ton of bonus content featuring the likes of The New Day, Sasha Banks and... Tugboat?! It's a very strange comic, but for fans of wrestling it shows a love of the sport that makes it a fun, authentic read.

Princess & The P.I.: Thompson & Drouhard On 'Mega Princess'
Mega Princesss, out next week from Boom, is an all-ages story about a young princess named Max who really wants to be a detective. She has a pony named Justine, who can be kind of a jerk, and because it's her birthday, her fairy godmother just gave her superpowers. To Max's disappointment, however, her superpowers come from the world's princesses, so they're mostly about dancing, charm, and being able to detect a pea under a pile of mattresses. But with her baby brother missing, Max is going to have to use her detective skills, her princess powers, and her powered-up Jerk Pony to solve the case. ComicsAlliance sat down with Mega Princess writer Kelly Thompson and artist Brianne Drouhard to talk about the feminist princess moment, building fantasy worlds, and the importance of a mean pony.

DC And Boom Announce 'Justice League/Power Rangers' Crossover
When DC and IDW published Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles earlier this year, I honestly thought that DC Comics had hit the apex of putting out crossovers that fans have been wanting since at least 1993. It turns out that I was wrong, because in January, DC and Boom Studios are teaming up for Justice League/Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, a six-issue mini-series in which Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Green Lantern and the Flash team up with Angel Grove's favorite Teenagers With Attitudes for an all-new adventure.

Now the publisher's Kaboom imprint has announced Adventure Time: Islands, an original graphic novel from show writer Ashly Burch and artist Diigii Daguna, which goes back in time to the aftermath of the Mushroom War for a story featuring Bunny Girl and her tribe of human survivors.
