When you think about characters that are well-suited for saving Christmas, it's hard to come up with one more perfect for the job than Michelangelo the Ninja Turtle. Not only has he been making some pretty significant appearances under the tree for a solid thirty years, but of the four brothers who make up the team, Mikey's the one who's full of childlike wonder and the sense of fun that allow one to be swept up by Christmas magic. That's probably why he's the character who ended up starring in the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Christmas issue back in 1985, in which he befriends a kitty cat, brings joy to a bunch of orphans, and actually Saves Christmas. Which, you know, also involves hijacking a truck and crashing through at least two NYPD roadblocks. Saving Christmas can be complicated, folks.

If you've been keeping an eye on IDW's Twitter account, you've probably seen the teaser images released in advance of today's release of Kelly Thompson and Jenn St-Onge's Jem and the Misfits. The title is set to give the Holograms' eternal rivals a stage of their own, and each of the teaser images has revealed a single member of the cast, along with a full profile of each character. But now, with the book hitting shelves and the Misfits ready to make some mischief and take their places as the Queens of Rock 'n' Roll, we're pleased to present the full image by St-Onge, along with some commentary on the series and its direction from Thompson.

IDW's Revolution crossover might be coming to a close, but that doesn't mean that things are slowing down for the Hasbro properties that have all been thrown into the same universe. In March, the Revolutionaries are faced with Cobra Commander, the secrets behind the Mobile Armored Strike Kommand will finally be revealed, the crew of the Lost Light are trapped with no choice but to save the universe (again), and --- perhaps most importantly --- we're finally getting to see Art Baltazar and Franco do a story with Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes. That's right, y'all: Revolution is getting the Aw Yeah! treatment with a story where Micronauts foe Baron Karza reads a bunch of GI Joe comics and then finds out that Snake Eyes is very real. Last week, IDW announced Judge Dredd: Deviations, a new story that takes a "What If" style approach to John Wagner, Alan Grant, and Steve Dillon's "Cry of the Werewolf," asking what would happen if Mega City One's toughest lawman never recovered. If you've never read the original story, though, don't worry. Before the Deviations special hits shelves in March, IDW will be reprinting the original "Cry of the Werewolf" with a new version that serves as a tribute to Dillon.

TMNT Universe was one of 2016's best new titles, but really, that shouldn't have been a surprise. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles books have been consistently amazing since their relaunch five years ago, with the biggest problem being the huge amount of great characters and stories and not enough room to tell them -- until the launch of a series designed to put the spotlight onto a few other sections of their universe, anyway. Now, as TMNT Universe enters its second arc, Chris Mowry, Michael Dialynas, Tomi Varga and Shawn Lee are set to revive the alligator from the New York sewers, Leatherhead. I spoke to Mowry to find out a little more about his new take on the character and get a preview of the next issue.

Earlier this year, IDW put out a handful of one-shots called Deviations, built around the idea of stories that asked what if things happened differently in stories of their classic characters, leading to some kind of "else world." As familiar as that idea might be, it produced some really amazing stories that took concepts like "What if Cobra Commander won?" or "What would happen if the Ghostbusters never crossed the streams?" and did some pretty fantastic stuff. And now, they're coming back for a second round. In March, IDW is launching another five-week Deviations event, and it's kicking off with a Judge Dredd story where the always amazing John McCrea asks what Mega City One would be like if its toughest lawman had never recovered from that time he was briefly a werewolf.
