Marvel has released a preview of the first issue of "Wolverine: The Best There Is" coming in December from Charlie Huston and Juan Jose Ryp. It features a throwdown between Wolverine and a new villain called Contagion, who stands out notably for having pubic hair that wreaths his junk in a Cthulu-like beard of tendrils that look like they could come to life at any moment and attack you with their prehensile stalks.

The promotional copy describes this as "the most violent Wolverine ongoing series you'll ever lay eyes upon," and several of the images from the preview are actually censored with the label "TOO VIOLENT TO SHOW." My question is: What does that even mean? Because listen, I read that issue of "Punisher: MAX" where Frank Castle cut open a dude's stomach and used his intestines to decorate a nearby tree like so much Christmas tinsel, so wherever the line is, I know it's past that. Granted, there may be different rules about the content Marvel wants to put online, but they've published lots of previews of violent comics before without censoring, simply by choosing pages they actually wanted to show.

Anyway, the preview is after the jump if you want to not see the images they can't let you look at.
