"Mass Effect" is everywhere. Whether it's the upcoming video game sequel or the recently launched comic book series from Dark Horse, it's clear that people are digging on the adventures of Commander Shepard, the hero - or heroine, depending on your initially chosen path - of the science fiction franchise.

Now, Shepard and a variety of other characters from the "Mass Effect" series - including assassin extraordinaire Thane Krios and Grunt, a Krogan mercenary - are coming to you by way of a new DC Direct action figure line. Which is confusing, since Dark Horse does the comics and DC Direct does the toys and you think it would all get done by the same people and it makes your brain hurt to think about so it's best not to think about it.

The toy line, listed in DC Direct's solicitations for March, isn't available until August. That's the bad news. The good news is that this is only the first of hopefully many waves, so if you're a "Mass Effect" fan, you're going to have plenty of action figure goodness to look forward to.
