Miles Teller is Reed Richards, Kate Mara is Sue Storm, Michael B. Jordan is Johnny Storm, and Jamie Bell is Ben Grimm.

At least, that's according to The Hollywood Reporter, whose sources say 20th Century Fox is close to closing deals with the four actors for its new film based on Marvel's Fantastic Four comics created by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee.

Directed by Josh Trank (Chronicle), the new FF movie would seem to be very different from the previous live-action efforts and comics. Notably, all four actors are only in their mid-to-late 20s. Teller in particular is only 26, which inspires quite a different image than the stern and grey-templed Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic we know from the comics and films. Likewise, Jordan does not resemble the comic book version of the Human Torch, who's traditionally depicted as a young white man with blond hair, but as we've said before, that's probably a good idea, and speaks to a trend in colorblind casting that we've seen manifest in other filmed comic book projects.

Jordan previously collaborated with Trank on Chronicle, and is best known for his superlative work on The Wire and Fruitvale Station. He also appeared with his new FF co-star Miles Teller in That Awkward Moment. Mara has numerous credits including a role in Marvel's Iron Man 2, but her work on Netflix's House of Cards has really blown her up recently. Jamie Bell is well known to fans of comic book films for his starring role in The Adventures of Tintin.
