If the first glimpse of "Dead of Night" ripped from Italian TV news didn't exactly deliver a proper dose of Tiziano Sclavi's Dylan Dog, then Traileraddict's newly-posted preview ought to fill fans with ample footage of star Brandon Routh decked in Dog's signature red shirt and black suit. Check it out after the jump.

Readers who've picked up Dark Horse Comics' "The Dylan Dog Case Files" TPB will probably notice a few major differences between the heroes' original adventures and his upcoming cinematic clashes with vampires, zombies and werewolves -- mainly that Dog is hanging out in New Orleans rather than his native London. In a way it's repeat of the somewhat likeminded 2005 adaptation of "Constantine."

Another key difference is Sam Huntington's portrayal of Dog's sidekick Marcus, who is more or less a zombie stand-in for Groucho, Dog's comic book companion modeled after Groucho Marx. I dig Groucho as much as the next guy, but I'm not sure he'd fit in so well in a more contemporary film, which softens the change quite a bit for me.

Traileraddict's low res video quality isn't especially flattering of "Dead of Night" or its visual effects, so it's probably too early to judge its aesthetics, although I'll admit that it's kind of nice to see director Kevin Munroe ("TMNT") went with more monster makeup and prosthetics than CGI.

Alas, they failed to use my preferred tagline in the trailer, although I can still hold out hope that it'll be used in the final cut of the film.
