First Look: James Harren Joins Mike Mignola For ‘B.P.R.D.: Abyss Of Time’
The upcoming year is going to be big for B.P.R.D. Dark Horse recently announced their renumbering initiative for the popular Hellboy spinoff, and longtime Hellboy and B.P.R.D. editor, and newly anointed Dark Horse editor-in-chief Scott Allie, has said that recent events in the series are leading toward what he simply, but ominously, described as "The End."
To give fans a glimpse of what's to come, the publisher has provided ComicsAlliance with preview art for five upcoming B.P.R.D. story arcs. We're debuting one preview a day this week, and today we have art from James Harren on the upcoming Abyss of Time story arc in B.P.R.D. #103-104.Harren's work with Mignola (and John Arcudi) on B.P.R.D.: Hell on Earth revealed to many readers the talents of an illustrator who is quite possibly on his way to becoming one of the more popular, and sought after, artists in this industry. And now the two will be working together again for a two part story of magic and prehistory.
From the official Dark Horse solicit:
A group of agents enter an abandoned warehouse in Chicago, only to discover the site of a hundred-year-old magical ritual and an old Hyperborean weapon, which leads to shocking revelations about man's prehistory and the legacy of the Ogdru-Hem!
B.P.R.D.#103 is on sale 1/19/13. Check out the cover for each issue, plus some interior art and sketches by Harren, below.
