‘Gantz: Perfect Answer’ Trailer Teases Tense Live Action Sequel [Video]

Following the January release of the first half of the live action Gantz film series, its sequel Gantz: Perfect Answer is set to open in Japan on April 23, with a US date to follow. What’s in store for protagonists Kei Kurono (Kazunari Ninomiya) and Masaru Kato (Ken’ichi Matsuyama a.k.a. L from Death Note) in the live action Gantz’s conclusion? Get a taste from the film’s latest trailer after the jump.Given that the two films cull from 30 volumes of manga (16 or so of which will be available in English from Dark Horse Comics by the time a US release rolls around) and 26 episodes of anime, the live action sequel will follow in the footsteps of the first film by condensing much of creator Hiroya Oku’s original story.

Whatever that might mean for the conclusion of the series, a weakened Kurono still seems to be stuck making an impossible choice in the face of what might be mankind’s destruction. No wonder he’s weeping in front of a magic ball with the power to make dead kids fight aliens for points.
