If you've been waiting to see what the first half-of the year is going to look like when it comes to Marvel Legends, look no further. Hasbro unleashed a hefty salvo of new figures and sets tied to Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and more at this year's Toy Fair. While Thor: Ragnarok was nowhere to be found, there are dozens of new figures planned to arrive already, so Marvel Legends fans of every size and scale will have plenty to look forward to in the coming months.

This is the first year there will be three major Marvel Studios properties hitting theaters, and the selection of Guardians of the Galaxy and Spider-Man: Homecoming figures is going to please movie fans and comic collectors both. We're getting the first ever Nebula from Hasbro, which looks stellar. A new Gamora is arriving as well, but the bigger surprise is that the build-a-figure for that wave will be Mantis instead of Death's Head II as many expected. It's not often that Hasbro makes the BAF character a smaller figure like Mantis.  You could argue Death's Head II is the more obscure of the two, and would make more sense as the BAF, but the end result is about the same I suppose.

Spider-Man's offerings include the expected Homecoming characters, but comic favorites like Tombstone, Beetle and Moon Knight will also help fill out the multiple waves. There'll even be a Captain Universe Spider-Man complete with bearded portrait, so you will be able to flesh out your Spider-Verse roster sooner rather than later. The Tom Holland head sculpt on the Homecoming Spider-Man looks solid, and continues the good work Hasbro's been doing getting actor likenesses down in the Legends line. Hopefully that continues through to Thor and the 2018 films as well.

More of the Netflix characters will be getting Marvel Legends this year, as Daredevil and Elektra join Jessica Jones and Punisher. The more important news however is that A-Force is getting a box set that features Elsa Bloodstone, Monica Rambeau, She-Hulk, Lady Loki, Lady Sif, and Singularity. A number of those characters are first-timers, and will do well to join Captain Marvel, Nico Minoru, and the upcoming Dazzler. Jane Foster won't be left out in the cold however, as she'll be getting a solo figure --- likely in one of the Ragnarok waves at the close of 2017.
