If you weren't able to snag Kaite Cook and Andy Price's San Diego Comic-Con exclusive My Little Pony story this past summer, IDW's My Little Pony 2013 Annual—Spotlight should cure what ails you. The reprinted tale is only part of the appeal for fans, however, as Ted Anderson and Tony Fleecs are expanding The Hub's animated My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic world with a prequel story that ties into the recent Equestria Girls movie, where the famous ponies live as teenage humans in another realm. IDW's provided CA with a first-look, which you can check out after the cut.

From IDW's official solicitation info:

The world of My Little Pony expands in this special oversized Annual. Straight from the new, hit movie Equestria Girls comes all your favorite Ponies like you’ve never seen them before! New Looks, New Friendships, and New Dangers! Join IDW in exploring this brand new tale that ties in closer to Canterlot than you may think!
