New ‘Batman v Superman’ Photo Features More Bruce Wayne Brooding

Does Bruce Wayne know any other emotions besides brooding, or any other facial expressions besides “righteous scowl”? This is perhaps one of the greatest unanswered questions of the modern, grittier era of Batman. And judging by this new photo from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the answer appears to be: nope.

But at least Ben Affleck’s Wayne has a recent to be brooding in this new photo, released to the official Batman v Superman Twitter account. In the image below, Wayne is standing amid the rubble of Wayne Enterprises, which was destroyed in the fight between Superman and Zod in Man of Steel — along with thousands of human lives. This is what sets Batman against Henry Cavill’s Superman, understandably:

Bruce Wayne won’t be the only one questioning the righteousness of Superman, as the Kryptonian hero will also have to contend with the government, Lex Luthor and Doomsday — the latter of which will unite the warring heroes with Wonder Woman in an epic battle.

Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.

The film also stars Jesse Eisenberg, Laurence Fishburne, Amy Adams and Jeremy Irons, with Gal Gadot making her debut as Wonder Woman, and cameos expected from Jason Momoa’s Aquaman and Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen / The Flash. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters on March 25.
