Greg Rucka Returns To Renee Montoya As DC Announces First Batch Of ‘Convergence’ Minis

question-dc-hed

That sound you just heard is the sound of one million Tumblrs updating.

On Tuesday morning DC announced titles, teams, and plot outlines for ten of its forty planned two-issue Convergence mini-series, which will coincide with the publisher's big event comic next spring and take the place of its regular monthly output. From the looks of it, there's plenty of fan-service involved for people who loved pre-New 52 DC continuity.

Not only is Renee Montoya getting her own two issues as The Question, written by Greg Rucka -- who initially put Montoya in that role -- and drawn by Cully Hamner; but there's a Stephanie Brown Batgirl series, a Nightwing/Oracle wedding story, a Wally West story, a Superman/Lois Lane marriage series, a Bruce/Damian Batman & Robin series, and so on.

‘Robin Rises: Omega’ Could Mean The Return Of Damian Wayne

Robin Omega 1 main

If the preview images for DC Comics' new Robin Rises: Omega one-shot, which hits stores July 16, indicate what it looks like they're indicating, then Damian Wayne's comic-book death will have lasted just a bit less than 17 months.

The writer of the book, Peter J. Tomasi, wouldn't tell Hero Complex exactly which Robin is returning, but since almost every other Robin seems to be alive, well, and doing other things (with the exception of Stephanie Brown, who's in sort of a gray area), Damian seems to be the prime suspect, especially considering that Ra's al Ghul plays a major role in the one-shot.

Warner Bros. Animation Announces ‘Batman And Son’ Feature [Video]

Son of Batman WB Animation
Warner Bros. Animation

Like it or not, Grant Morrison's run on Batman was one of the longest and most definitive runs on a character in the past decade. So it makes perfect sense that Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment would look to it as inspiration for one of its animated features.

The new Son of Batman movie appears to loosely adapt Grant Morrison and Andy Kubert's "Batman and Son," the first arc of Morrison's seven-year Batman run. It introduces Damian, but also throws Deathstroke into the mix, something that was never part of the story in the comics. Check out the first trailer for the movie after the jump.

DC Releases Designs for ‘Earth Two’ Batman and Robin

batman-earth-2-1-1330369582

If not the most eagerly anticipated of DC Comics' "New 52" second wave titles launching in May, Earth 2 is definitely the most mysterious. It bears the name of DC's popular Silver Age alternate earth, where the heroes of The Golden Age grew old in real time after DC stopped publishing their original adventures, a world that was off-limits for about 20 years after 1986's Crisis On Infinite Earths before reappearing in various forms in recent years. After the New 52boot, in which DC once again reset their
