Google Play’s Bubble Zoom Feature Hopes To Change How You Read Comics [SDCC 2016]


The past decade in comics has been a constant process of innovation as publishers and tech companies try to figure out how digital comics might work in the future. Motion comics were big for a while before fading away, and in recent years the "Guided View" format of panel to panel transitions has become the preferred method.

Google and the team behind the Android operating system have been exploring several alternatives to Guided View, including last year's introduction of a "Vertical Scrolling" featuring. However, a new innovation has just been announced at San Diego Comic Con that may change the game forever, and it's called Bubble Zoom.

Superman And Bizarro Team Up For Interactive Storybook App – You Know, For Kids!


Superman and Batman played a huge role when I was learning to read back in the mid-1980s. Not only did I have plenty of storybooks and comics featuring the two, but I also had read-along books and records (yes, records) that I listened to on a nearly daily basis.

It looks like the kids of 2014 are going to have the opportunity to experience an updated version of that with a new interactive storybook from Livo Books, Superman and Bizarro Save the Planet. It's available through the Apple App Store and Google Play.

DC Comics Brings Selected Graphic Novels And Collections To ComiXology And Google Play

One of the cornerstones of DC Comics' current publishing strategy is expanding its digital distribution. In addition to producing a handful of new digital first series, the publisher has previously offered digital versions of many of its popular graphic novels.
