The other day saw John Ridley confirming that his long-developing Marvel TV series was still in the mix, even as no one knows what, or when the project represents. And even as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. gears up for a spinoff, it seems another live-action comedy behind Marvel’s Damage Control may be in contention for the ever-expanding universe.

Poor Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. First, Joss Whedon flat-out admits that the TV series get “leftovers” from their cinematic brethren, and now S.H.I.E.L.D.’s one major Marvel tie-in may not get the attention it deserves either. According to Clark Gregg, none of Agents’ work with the Inhumans of Marvel lore may end up tying into the 2019 movie version after all.

As Marvel gears up to shoot the pilot of its Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff Most Wanted, there’s been significantly less movement around American Crime head John Ridley’s top-secret Marvel TV series. Ridley himself confirms that the series remains in development, though we’re no closer to learning what it actually is.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. remains benched until March, following Agent Carter’s Season 2 return, but at least one other Agent remains active. Adrianne Palicki’s Mockingbird and partner Lance Hunter will still have their day, as ABC confirms a pilot order for their Most Wanted spinoff series.

A ways back, Avengers director and ex-Marvel mainstay Joss Whedon seemed to cast shade at ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. over Coulson’s resurrection, despite he himself directing the pilot, noting that movies would consider the character dead. Now, Whedon clarifies his comments, denying he regrets keeping Clark Gregg in his badass role, even as Marvel TV tends to get the movies’ “leftovers.”
