Hot Toys’ Captain America: Civil War Ant-Man is Apparently Played by Ben Affleck

Hot Toys, we need to talk. For the most part, I appreciate all the effort put into the figures created by the talented team working for the company. The way Hot Toys is able to recreate the heroes and villains of cinema's most exciting characters must rely on some sort of ancient magic. Somewhere along the line these last few months, the magic well must have started drying up. Where costumes and accessories are still delightfully detailed, the once impeccable likenesses have started failing the characters they're modeled after. That's never been more apparent than the newest announcement, the Captain America: Civil War Ant-Man.

Hot Toys’ New Ant-Man Figure Comes With a Hawkeye Accessory

When they said Hawkeye and Ant-Man were both going to be in Captain America: Civil War, everyone in the world became Success Kid. By continually supporting the massive media juggernaut that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we'd arrived at the time when a live action version of the cover to Avengers #223 might actually happen. And then the most recent trailer arrived, and there it was; Hawkeye firing an arrow with a miniature Ant-Man saddled up for action like Slim Pickens.

Black Panther, Ant-Man and Vision Bring the Civil War to Disney Infinity

Disney Interactive
Disney Interactive

More Marvel goodness is coming to Disney Infinity this year, as the game will bring more of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's faces to life in video game form. While Disney Infinity's third installment has largely focused on various Star Wars stories, there was a smattering of Marvel characters released to bulk up the comic roster. Later this month, a new Captain America: Civil War inspired Captain America figure will release alongside Marvel Battlegrounds, a four-player co-op Play Set, where you and some friends can duke it out with the biggest and baddest in Marvel's corner of the Disney Infinity Universe.

Captain America won't be alone in getting a new figure however, as Disney revealed during its Disney Infinity Next stream a handful of hard traveled heroes that would make the leap to the successful video game franchise. Black Panther, Ant-Man and Vision will get their own spanking new figures, along with a new Power Disc pack that boasts new vehicles and power-ups for Disney Infinity. There's also a standalone Symbiote Spider-Man figure coming to help round out the Civil War connections, though he was already released as part of the PS Vita starter pack in 2014.

Ant-Man Rises to the Occasion With New SH Figuarts Figure

Tamashii Nations
Tamashii Nations

Ant-Man hasn't been a major fixture of the Captain America: Civil War promotion, but we've known he was going to be in the film ever since Falcon teased his imminent arrival with a post-credit blurb. Interestingly enough, there might be certain story reasons that Ant-Man's been absent from a lot of the toy line attention to this point, but we won't spoil that here today. No, instead, we're just going to take a look at the updated Ant-Man suit the character is apparently donning in the film.

Tamashii Nations' SH Figuarts Captain America: Civil War line already has its two biggest guns up for pre-order, but for the third character in the series, the company went with arguably the least well-known hero of the bunch. The SH Figuarts Ant-Man beats characters like Black Widow and Falcon to release, but that's sort of okay with us. It would be nice to get that Black Widow Figuarts after like sixty movies. Ant-Man doesn't exactly have a million toys exploding off of shelves either, but at least this time we know a Black Widow is almost definitely, probably, assuredly coming and not just a pipe dream. But hey, Ant-Man!

It’s Hulk vs. Ant-Man in the Coke Super Bowl Commercial

Ant Man Hulk Coke Super bowl

Earlier this week, Coca-Cola and Marvel teased a team-up during the Super Bowl by sending out mini-cans of Coke branded with different members of the Avengers. Both sides promised not to reveal the contents of the commercial until it aired during the Super Bowl. Now that it’s aired we know that the biggest and littlest Avengers — Hulk and Ant-Man — are doing battle over the last can of Coke.

Lego Marvel’s Avengers Getting Free Civil War and Ant-Man DLC Exclusively on PlayStation

TT Games
TT Games

Later this month, Lego Marvel's Avengers will let you play though brick-ified versions of almost all of the existing Marvel movies to this point (minus Thor, Iron Man and Iron Man 2). With six movies to cover, you'd think Lego Marvel's Avengers would be satisfied with content at the start, but that's just not the case. On day one, TT Games is already prepping two new downloadable content packs to add even more MCU action into the fold. Provided you're playing on a PlayStation console.

There's a fair mix of Phase 1 and Phase 2 Marvel films included in the connecting story missions in Lego Avengers, but one curious exclusion was Ant-Man. As the final film of the second wave of Marvel movies, it made sense in a way that it wasn't part of the core game. Ant-Man wasn't actually a member of the Avengers like the rest of the solo movie stars, but as it turns out, Ant-Man will be included with Lego Marvel's Avengers after all, just as an add-on. And yes, that includes Ant-thony.

What We Learned About ‘Captain America: Civil War’ From Its New Lego Sets

Lego Civil War

The 2016 Lego catalog is out, and with it come some surprise reveals for upcoming sets based in the Marvel universe. Just like the 2015 catalog revealing a bit about Avengers: Age of Ultron, Lego's latest teasers show a great deal of what to expect from the upcoming cinematic adventure, Captain America: Civil War. These sets are not to be confused with the other recently announced Marvel Super Hero sets, which included the first ever Captain Marvel and Thanos mini figures, though those are also due out in early 2016 and do make an appearance in the catalog.

While there have been countless Lego sets based on the Marvel movies (and countless others) that haven't panned out with an exact 1:1 representation to the movie, the Avengers: Age of Ultron sets were fairly spot on. That's what makes these new Civil War sets so interesting. Each shares at least a little bit in common with some of the teasers and trailers we've seen so far, though there are still some surprises that should make Marvel fans excited if they do work out.

Enter to Win an Ant-Man Miniature Xbox One Prize Pack

Disney
Disney

Thanks to Ant-Man, we know Pym particles allow you to shrink down to the size of an insect, but there isn't a whole lot to do when you're that small. Yeah, you can play with ants and explore the insides of an apartment building just fine, but when you're miniaturized, there's no video games or movies to watch. But what if old Hank Pym had used his technology to bring all his home entertainment system needs down to microscopic levels?

Imagine having a miniature Xbox One to use when you were tired of talking with the ants. Of course, you probably wouldn't be able to bring any game discs or Blu-rays with you down to that level, so you'd mostly rely on digital download codes to get by. Yeah, that makes total sense. In fact, it makes so much sense, we found a way to develop that very thing in case the world ever needed it. Instead of keeping it for ourselves, we're giving it away to you lucky readers.

‘Ant-Man’ Director Peyton Reed Talks ‘Weirder’ Sequel, See Early Designs for Yellowjacket

Ant-Man Yellowjacket
Marvel

As far as Marvel films go, Ant-Man wasn’t as weird as Guardians of the Galaxy, though the brief trip to the Quantum Realm gave us a taste of the potential weirdness to come. Director Peyton Reed is returning to helm Ant-Man and the Wasp, and promises that things will definitely get more strange in the sequel, while newly-released concept art from the first film shows early — and very different — designs for the Yellowjacket suit.
