San Diego Comic-Con saved the biggest news for last. Marvel’s panel is the last big film panel in Hall H this year, and we’re bound to get some huge news on everything from ‘Doctor Strange’ to ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ to ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.’

At San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, Marvel plans to announce a new series spinning out of Ta-Nehisi Coates and Brian Stelfreeze's Black Panther series, Black Panther: World of Wakanda. An anthology series, the lead story features Ayo and Aneka, two lovers who defected from Wakanda's all-woman security force to form the Midnight Angels, and it's co-written by Coates and feminist essayist and critic Roxane Gay, with art by Alitha Martinez. The first issue of World of Wakanda also features a 10-page backup story written by poet Yona Harvey, with art by Afua Richardson. Harvey's story stars Zenzi, a female revolutionary who has also been introduced in Coates' Black Panther.

Yesterday we reported on the leaking of Marvel Comics' Marvel Previews free magazine, unveiling their entire post-Civil War II line-up including comics such as The Unstoppable Wasp, Solo, Foolkiller and Prowler. Today, the magazine has officially been released via comic stores and online, confirming even more titles and creative teams, including a Kate Bishop Hawkeye book and the much awaited Gamora solo title from Guardians of the Galaxy screenwriter Nicole Perlman.

Marvel’s reveal of its Marvel NOW line of comics set for release in the wake of Civil War II has taken the form of a steady drip of announcements over the past week and a half, but now news is flooding in, and not all from official sources. Leaked scans of this week's Marvel NOW Previews magazine revealing the publisher's line-up for October and beyond have hit the internet via sites such as Reddit and 4chan. We’ve rounded up all the information we could find to give you a sense of the new landscape of the Marvel Universe this fall.

Recently, Marvel has been releasing teaser images with the tagline "Divided We..." featuring two characters separated by shattered imagery, and all we knew was that it pointed to the publisher's fall slate of comics set to be unveiled later this month under the Marvel NOW banner. Today, Marvel released a complete teaser titled "Divided We Stand," featuring two distinct groups of heroes and villains separated by a literal divide.

One of the major misconception that informs this idea is that, prior to 1986, there were no serious superhero stories. That's emphatically untrue. The late Silver Age and Bronze Age were full of dark, mature superhero stories ---"The Death of Ferro Lad," "The Night Gwen Stacy Died," etc, --- but there's one in particular that stands above the rest for how much it foreshadows the current mood of superhero storytelling; "Panther's Rage," a 13-part epic that ran bimonthly in the pages of Jungle Action from 1973-1975. Written by Don McGregor and pencilled by Rich Buckler, Gil Kane and Billy Graham, with inks by Klaus Janson, P. Craig Russell and Bob McLeod, and colors by Glynis Wein, "Panther's Rage" was the first great Black Panther story, combining a thrilling saga with a series of great stand-alone tales.

When Marvel announced Ryan Coogler as the director of Black Panther, it seemed like only a matter of time before he cast his lucky charm: Creed and Fruitvale Station star Michael B. Jordan. That time has come, as Jordan has officially joined Chadwick Boseman in the Wakandan hero’s solo outing, which hits theaters in 2018.

Chadwick Boseman made one hell of a debut as Black Panther in this summer’s Captain America: Civil War. As T’Challa, the new King of the African nation of Wakanda, Boseman gave a terrific and intense performance as both the angry diplomat (and grieving son) and the tough-as-nails superhero. And when your nails are made out of unbreakable vibranium, that means you’re pretty damn tough.

Ta-Nehisi Coates and Brian Stelfreeze's new volume of Black Panther has already been one of the biggest crossover success stories of the year. It seems like everyone wants to get their hands on a copy, and President Barack Obama even name-dropped it in a recent commencement speech at Howard University, Coates' alma-mater. If you missed the first issue, or are struggling to keep up with the many plates that are spinning as Wakanda begins to crumble, Marvel has put together a video that features Coates going into detail about the new characters and status quo established in Black Panther #1, and it's set to the fierce tunes of rap supergroup Run The Jewels.
