‘Avengers 2’ — Chris Hemsworth Says ‘Age of Ultron’ Is an ‘Onslaught’ That Will Not Stop

thor-fi

We're on the set of Avengers: Age of Ultron, inside the new Avengers Tower; formerly Stark Tower and now converted to a de facto headquarters for the Earth’s mightiest heroes. It’s all very sleek and shiny and pretty much exactly what you'd expect from a place Tony Stark calls home. Except now, it's a complete disaster. There's broken glass scattered across the floor. Furniture is destroyed. There are giant gashes in the wall. There's a production assistant dramatically swinging a giant cape around (the actors film their fight scenes without the cape, and the cape is added later in post-production).

Here’s Tom Hiddleston Cosplaying As Captain America In An Unused ‘Thor: The Dark World’ Scene [Video]

Thor The Dark World Loki Captain America Costume
Marvel Studios

If Tumblr was a person, they'd be flipping their lid right now.

If you caught Thor: The Dark World in theaters a few months back, you know there's a scene in which Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston, briefly transforms into Chris Evans' Captain America. It's a funny scene.

For filmmaking purposes we're not entirely privy to, other than maybe Hiddleston just wanted to wear a Captain America costume, the scene was originally shot with Loki's actor rather than Steve Rogers'.  So get ready, Tumblr. You're about to see some magic.

The 10 Best Marvel Movie Casting Decisions (So Far)

Untitled-2

The news that Paul Rudd will play Hank Pym in the 2015 Ant-Man movie is the latest piece of inspired casting from Marvel Studios. Rudd will bring charm, humor and an appealing eye-twinkle to what may prove to be Marvel's most comedic movie under writer Joe Cornish and writer-director Edgar Wright.

Marvel characters have found tremendous success on the big screen, both in Marvel's own "in-house" movies such as the Avengers line and in those produced by other studios, such as the Wolverine/X-Men films. Bringing an established character to the screen is an unusual challenge because readers have a strong idea of what they want to see, and actors want to bring something new to the role. ComicsAlliance offers its view on the performers who pulled this off best.

‘Thor: The Dark World’ Is A Good Time At The Movies (Most Of The Time) [Review]

Thor 2

If you boiled down Marvel's movies to a basic formula, the first Thor film would be a perfect example of it. It's got some decent superhero action, a lot of shoehorned-in S.H.I.E.L.D. stuff, and one huge feather in its cap: A sense of humor about itself and its characters.

Luckily, the new sequel, Thor: The Dark World, is like its predecessor in that it's not afraid to include some levity. As long as that keeps up, it's a jaunty, enjoyable flick. It's only when the movie gets capital-s Serious -- and luckily that's not too often -- that it gets into some trouble.
