The Flash managed to astonish its fans with the full-fledged appearance of a 14-foot King Shark, an admittedly expensive effect on an already stretched budget. Arrow star David Ramsey teased that we might see the Suicide Squad member again, and now we know for certain King Shark will have his day, with a full episode and crossover to boot.
If you're an avid Arrow viewer, then you'll remember how Amanda Waller (played by Cynthia Addai-Robinson) approached Bronze Tiger (Michael Jai White) a few weeks ago and asked him to be part of her new unit (which is really "more of a squad").
Well, the makeup of that Suicide Squad has been revealed in some new photos posted to CBR. The members appear to be (from left to right): Bronze Tiger, mad bomber Shrapnel (Sean Maher), Waller, and Deadshot (Michael Rowe). Also present are A.R.G.U.S. agent Lyla Michaels/Harbinger (Audrey Marie Anderson) and, surprisingly, none other than Team Arrow member John Diggle (David Ramsey).
One of the bright shining lights of The CW show Arrow's first season was the character of John Diggle and the actor portraying him, David Ramsey. Far more than a sidekick, Diggle really took on a life of his own. He's proved popular enough that he has made the transition to comics, in the tradition of Jimmy Olsen (who originally appeared on the Adventures of Superman radio show).
To mark Diggle's brief appearance in Green Arrow #24 and in anticipation of his co-starring role in issue 25, the series' "Zero Year" issue, we sat down with series writer Jeff Lemire and Ramsey himself to talk about the transition.
