At long last, Richie Rich's reign of capitalist terror is over, at least where the options for children's shows on Netflix are concerned.
The company's slate of original programming has been growing pretty steadily in recent months, and now, less than a week after the debut of the first season of new adventures for the pint-sized oligarch, the announcement came down via Variety about what they're working on for the next year, including a new series based on Playmobil figures and, of more interest to those of us driven primarily by nostalgia, reboots of Inspector Gadget and Danger Mouse.

While many fans would give their cybernetic left arm for a more...action oriented...Inspector Gadget, Viper Comics is delivering the all-ages equivalent of the next best thing: a 2011 "Inspector Gadget" comic free of Disney, "Gadget Boy & Heather" or "Gadgetinis" interference.
As ripe as Inspector Gadget's animated incarnation seems for a comic book, as far as I can tell, there's never really been an official IG series - as an adaptation or otherwise. I was completely willing to accept that sad fact until today, when I scoped this phenomenal fan art featuring Gadget, niece Penny and hound Brain getting hardcore on crime...
