The Wu-Tang Clan and its members had a big influence on Marvel’s Netflix Luke Cage, so you could bet Cage’s buddy would follow a similar path. Not only will Iron Fist feature RZA in both music and a directorial role, but star Finn Jones teases the possibility of what the Iron Fist costume might look like.
The Defenders pulled a bit of focus in recent weeks, but we still have to meet and establish Iron Fist in March before New York’s street-level heroes can team up. Find out who will introduce us to Danny Rand, as the episode titles and directors for Marvel’s fourth Defender have been revealed.
We’ve still one more Marvel Netflix series to go before The Defenders hit the block, but the team is already hard at work in the newest photos. See for yourself, as Iron Fist takes on a masked criminal, and Jessica Jones goes out for a stroll in new previews of the team-up miniseries.
Despite all we know of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and their respective casts, The Defenders has kept deadly silent on Sigourney Weaver’s mysterious villain. No longer, as new photos reveal not only said villain’s nom de guerre, but also some Luke Cage crossover, and more.
The already-streaming Marvel Netflix series have given us a taste of the four major superheroes paired up, but we’re nearing time for The Defenders to bring it all home. So it is, that Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist are all standing tall in a costume-happy first photo!
The Defenders are back! Except now they're four of Brian Michael Bendis's New Avengers. Which is to say, they're the same four heroes who are starring in the Netflix Defenders franchise: Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist.
The newly announced ongoing series comes from Bendis and artist David Marquez, who also worked together on Civil War II, and previously worked together on Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man and Invincible Iron Man.
Next year will be the year of the Iron Fist, as Netflix launches its final solo Defenders series of the same name starring Finn Jones, and to capitalize on that, Marvel is launching a new Iron Fist ongoing next March.
Written by Ed Brisson with art by Mike Perkins, the series sees Danny Rand picking up the pieces after K'un Lun was destroyed, and discovering there's more than he ever knew to the history of the Iron Fist.
Marvel’s Netflix Iron Fist didn’t truly get rolling until the showrunner assignment of Dexter alum Scott Buck, whose next trip to the MCU is much more Inhuman. The forthcoming ABC IMAX drama has officially set Buck as its own showrunner, possibly necessitating a shift in Iron Fist’s future.
We’ve a few months yet to see if Marvel’s Iron Fist is up to the task of standing alongside the Netflix Defenders, but an early sneak peek should help tide things over. Meet Danny Rand, Colleen Wing and the Meachums, and check in with Claire with new photos from the March 2017 release.
