‘X-Force’ Concept Art May Reveal Lineup for the ‘X-Men’ Spinoff

Back in 2013, 20th Century Fox tapped Kick-Ass 2 director Jeff Wadlow to write the screenplay for an X-Force movie, but when Tim Miller’s Deadpool concept footage “leaked” online, Fox fast-tracked the Merc With a Mouth’s solo film and put X-Force on the back burner. We still don’t know much about X-Force — is Wadlow also directing it? Which characters will be included in the lineup? Will familiar X-Men characters appear? — but new concept art may give us an indication of where Fox is headed with the project.

‘Kick-Ass 2′ Director And Star Discuss Cutting The Comic’s Rape And Dog Killing Scenes From Film [Video]

One tidbit from The New Republic's profile of writer Mark Millar in which he said he didn't really "think it matters" whether a bad guy rapes someone in a comic is some elaboration on why the infamous gang-rape scene from he and John Romita Jr.'s Kick-Ass 2 was cut from the film. Also cut, apparently, a scene in which a dog is killed.

According to the film's director, Jeff Wadlow, moviegoers don't need those scenes like comic readers do, because he's working with real people rather than drawings. See his full quote, along with comments from star Christopher Mintz-Plasse, after the jump.
