The ball is dropping for 2016, and there are all kinds of festive blowouts going on in the DC universe(s) to celebrate. Frank Miller’s Dark Knight III: The Master Race continues as Old Man Bruce faces a dangerous situation that he could never finish alone. Taking place after the astonishing ending of Green Lantern: Lost Army, Green Lantern Corps: Edge of Oblivion will feature the cosmic heroes trying to find their way home as the universe reaches entropy. Though the Archie Action line will be minus some "mega" fun in the new year, that doesn't mean Sonic the Hedgehog won't still be up to his old tricks. Eggman just never gets tired of trying to take the Blue Blur down, but Sonic and his friends appear to be up to whatever task is needed in both the main book and Sonic Universe. Maybe one of these days, Sonic will actually find some time to finish putting his planet back together. Provided Eggman gives the poor guy a break.

DC heralds the holidays with all kinds of upcoming comics this December, and let's just say Carrie Kelly better have her slingshot ready for what awaits in the next chapter of Dark Knight Returns III. Ever wonder what would happen if Shredder and the Foot Clan ran amok in Gotham? Batman has fought alongside (and against) all kinds of heroes in the past, and it's going to be radical when he meets the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Can Michelangelo get the Caped Crusader to high five him and say "Cowabunga?" On the other side of Gotham, Damian Wayne returns to home to find all kinds of kids throughout the city calling themselves Robin. Better yet, his father isn't Batman anymore. Throw in Red Hood, Red Robin and Grayson all into the mix and you get the first issue of Robin War.
Vertigo is making a big push with its 12 new series this fall, with an impressive roster of creators including Gail Simone, Holly Black, Peter Milligan, Gilbert Hernandez, Darwyn Cooke, and Micheal Allred.
Survivors’ Club, The Twilight Children, Clean Room and Art Ops launch next month, followed by Unfollow, Slash & Burn, Red Thorn and Jacked in November. The four books rounding out the dozen are Sheriff Of Babylon, Lucifer, New Romancer and Last Gang In Town, all launching in December and solicited in this month's Previews catalog.
We have an advance look at those solicitations, and with it your first comprehensive look at the new Vertigo line-up. Check out the covers, creative teams, and synopses below, in order of release:
November is all about bringing the families of Marvel together, true believers! As the dead start to rise, Spidey will have to deal with The Santerians in this upcoming issue of Amazing-Spider Man. With Mutantkind is on the brink of extinction, we see Old Man Logan and Jean Grey meet for the first time in Extraordinary X-Men. Meanwhile, Doctor Strange's home, the Sancto Sanctorum, has an infestation, and it's something Terminix can't handle. There's all kinds of chaos facing the Marvel universe, and it's up to your favorite superheroes to set things right.
Frank Miller's Dark Knight III: The Master Race resumes the iconic story comic book fans have been following for almost 30 years. There are other major events going on throughout the DC universe, including the continuation of Batman and Robin Eternal. We get to see Harley Quinn hang out with the Arkham Knight, setting up the events of Batman: Arkham Knight. Don't forget that Superman and Lois Lane are still facing the ramifications of the Convergence event. Make sure you keep an eye out for Supergirl and Stargirl's bizarre encounter with Swamp Thing in this issue of DC Comics Bombshells.
More than a decade after it was originally announced back in October 2004, one of comics' long-lost projects, Batman: Europa by writers Brian Azzarello and Matteo Casali and artists Jim Lee and Giuseppe Camuncoli, is finally releasing its first issue in November.
The book was previously solicited for a January 2011. Now DC has exclusively revealed to ComicsAlliance the new solicitation and Lee Bermejo's variant cover for Batman: Europa #1, ahead of next week's November solicits. DC also unveiled details of a series of special collector's editions for Frank Miller's Dark Knight III: The Master Race.
It's only right that everyone breaks out their masks for Halloween and DC is no different for its comic book releases this October! In Batman and Robin Eternal, the Dynamic Duo are haunted by a bizarre human trafficking case they solved five years ago. With all kinds of dark secrets returning from the grave, the House of Wayne is in for a new kind of villain from the Rogues Gallery. Back in Metropolis, Superman and Lois must face the consequences and aftermath of the epic Convergence event.
Now that we have learned the identity of the mysterious Arkham Knight, you’d best believe that there are all kinds of new, twisted tales featuring this mysterious villain. On the other side of the galaxy, Hal Jordan must face Black Hand yet again. Only this time, one of them is armed with a weapon stronger than a dozen Green Lantern rings combined, and the other has the power to turn whole planets to stone. Meanwhile, as the Fates are dead and Donna Troy on the lam, Wonder Woman must stop a new threat facing the Amazons.
