We still don’t have the clearest picture of what Marvel’s new animated Spider-Man series will look like, though it appears we’re webs-up this summer. The first official teaser has arrived, and to quote the man himself, “this just got awesome.”

It’s been a few months since Marvel first announced that Disney XD’s Ultimate Spider-Man would be shuttered in favor of a new “back to basics” series ostensibly tied to Spider-Man Homecoming. No new details have been released, but some reported merchandising concepts may reveal fan-favorites “Spider-Gwen” and the Miles Morales Spider-Man taking part.

The end of the year is always a time for reflection, and we're taking this opportunity to look back at the long and weird history of superhero comics by picking our favorite heroes from each decade. Marvel’s Netflix Defenders has yet to reveal much about Sigourney Weaver’s main villain, though one imagines the eight-episode teamup series will feature a number of smaller big bads. Don’t expect Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk to menace anyone other than Daredevil, however, as the actor says there’s “no chance” of a Defenders appearance (or a Spider-Man: Homecoming role).

File this one under ‘Least Surprising News Stories of the Day’: right on the heels of releasing the first trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming, Sony has announced the release date for Spider-Man: Homecoming 2, proving that no title is so awkward as to prevent Hollywood from slapping the number ‘2’ on it and calling it a day.

The trailers for Spider-Man: Homecoming were just released last night, and in them we get to see our favorite web-slinger navigate the terrifying labyrinth that is high school. But Tom Holland is British and a celebrity, so he’d never been to high school in the U.S. before — until, that is, he started preparing for Homecoming. To really get into the deep, dark depths of the American teen psyche, Tom Holland did the only thing he could do: he enrolled in a real high school for three days, affected an accent, and pretended to be just a regular dude.

No sooner did we get our first official trailer for Spider-Man Homecoming did Hasbro roll out the first action figure from the upcoming Sony/Marvel Studios team-up. Spider-Man already got his debut in a special Marvel Legends Captain America: Civil War set with Iron Man and Captain America, so instead of just rehashing a new version of him (which will likely happen anyway), we're getting our first good look at the new Vulture from the rebooted franchise.
