There’s still a great deal of mystery around The Flash Season 3, not the least of which will finally introduce Mirror Master, and return an old friend. Or is that foe? Yes, Wentworth Miller’s Captain Cold will return for a chilly rivalry with the next generation of Flash rogues, including a gender-swapped version of The Top.
If ever you thought the first season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow over the top, just wait until Season 2. Not only will the team face off against a “Legion of Doom” comprised of returning villains like Malcolm Merlyn and the Reverse Flash, so too have new Justice Society of America heroes come aboard, and even a certain Mayor Queen!
The same day that saw The CW expanding its superhero ranks also brought them closer together by the upgrade of Wentworth Miller’s Captain Cold to a “franchise regular” across all series. Now, Arrow baddie John Barrowman will follow suit, as Malcolm Merlyn becomes the latest DC vet to expand his horizons.
The Flash fans were certainly sorry to see Wentworth MIller’s Leonard Snart called away to Legends of Tomorrow, but after Thursday’s climactic “Destiny,” there’s surprising news in store. Miller won’t stick with Legends of Tomorrow as a Season 2 regular, but rather split time between it and The Flash Season 3 as a Warner Bros. TV regular.

Both Arrow and The Flash have already crossed over with each other enough times to make our heads spin, with plenty more to come leading into either CW series’ final episodes this season, not to mention that insane spinoff. We still don’t know what to make of Arrow or The Flash spinning off The Atom into his own super-team of faces both new and old, but already DC’s TV Avengers may have assembled. A new set photo teases the new team’s first meeting with Barry and Oliver, but what does it mean for either season finale?
We thought it unlikely that Arrow could spawn yet another CW spinoff to see The Atom joining The Flash but it turns out the network’s real plan is infinitely crazier. The CW is reportedly working on a new series to feature not only Brandon Routh’s Atom, but also Victor Garber’s Firestorm, Wentworth Miller’s Captain Cold, and craziest of all, Caity Lotz’s Black Canary!
