‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Villain Microseries’ #1: Krang Features A Runaway Brain [Preview]

Scanning all the different Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series over the years, the most prominent characters are usually pretty consistent. Krang, though? That dude is kind of all over the place! Is he from Dimension X? Is he an Utrom? Did he used to kind of look like a white Xenomorph? This Wednesday, IDW is making it a point to define TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman and Tom Waltz’s take on the evil overlord in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Villain Microseries #1: Krang, the first in a four issue story by writer Joshua Williamson, artist Mike Henderson and colorist Tyler Walpole. Not only will Krang’s origin be spelled out, but also his agenda in the regular ongoing TMNT series. All told, it’s a fine time to brush up the current TMNT comic book continuity’s key villain. From IDW’s official solicitation info:

Krang was not always the feared warlord he is today. Once he was the spoiled prince of a falling dynasty. One disastrous mission to a penal colony planet changed all of that! Stranded by himself and surrounded by enemies, Krang faces the ultimate test for survival! See how this seemingly helpless alien grew to become a legend… and a leader!
