New ‘Bravest Warriors’ Figures Warp Through Time and Space Onto Your Shelves
As part of a collaboration with Frederator, ThreeA will be releasing the cast of Bravest Warriors as sixth-scale action figures this year. The series kicks off with bestest of friends, Chris Kirkman and Beth Tezuka, each captured in their full animated personas. At sixth-scale, Chris will come in at a sizeable 11.9" tall (mostly due to the splendiferous do), and Beth will arrive at just a hair under 10.5" in height.
Both characters will be fully articulated, but in order to make them as accurate to their on-screen versions as possible, ThreeA has developed what it dubs a "unique skinned Armature body." While ThreeA's signature figure lines all share some similarities, the licensed properties have all had a very distinct look. That manufacturing doesn't come cheap, but it does sure bring a lot of personality to each of the characters from Bravest Warriors. Proportions that work in animation are often unrealistic in actual practice, but despite their exaggerated looks, both Chris and Beth appear to be able to balance just fine in the production images ThreeA's shared so far.
The clothing all looks rather sharp, too, and the detailing looks on point. With characters that have so few flourishes in their design, the imperfections tend to stand out that much more. However, the simplistic designs appear to translate rather well, which is a testament to the fabricators at ThreeA. Curiously, Chris' technological gloves are advertised as removable, but there's no mention of additional accessories or hands. Why would you want to take the gloves off if there are just stumps underneath?
The figures will be up for pre-order on the Bambaland Store on May 21. Each figure will retail for $100. A second series featuring Danny, Plum, and Catbug will be offered later this summer. That's a rather pricey investment if you want to get the whole Bravest Warriors set, but don't let any Emotion Lords stop you from following your heart.
