The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles do a lot of things I like. I mean, they fight evil ninjas, they learn karate, they beat up robots with nunchuks, and if I were to start listing off my major interests, those three things would be pretty close to the top of the list. But there's one thing that they do surprisingly often that I like more than all of those put together: They hang out with dinosaurs. Truly, they are living their best lives.

And now, they're getting ready to do it again in "Half-Shell Heroes: Blast to the Past," an hour-long animated special that's set to air on Nickelodeon on November 22, in which our heroes head back in time and immediately start making friends with a triceratops. Check out a clip below!

Unlike the current Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles TV show, which is CGI animated in 3D, the special will feature the same character designs (and presumably fit into the same continuity) with a 2D animated style.

Here's the official description:

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles find themselves on the adventure of a lifetime when they accidentally time travel back to the Jurassic Era in Half-Shell Heroes: Blast to the Past premiering Sunday, Nov. 22, at 11:00 a.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon.  During the 2D-animated one-hour special, the Turtles encounter friendly dinosaurs from the past and dangerous aliens from the future who have a nefarious plan of their own. Using their ninja skills and having some fun along the way, the four brothers must find a way to save the day and get back to home.

Ninja skills that, I would like to remind you again, include making friends with dinosaurs.

In addition to its television premiere, the special will also be available early online. Starting Sunday, November 1, you can watch it online at Nick.com, and relive the magic of Leonardo befriending a triceratops again and again... for the very first time.
