The Marvel Universe is full of superhero teams, but when the United States of America is particularly threatened, there's one team dedicated to standing up for the nation: A.I.M.

Yes, that's the same A.I.M. that made MODOK, but the super-science collective has already been revamped into a force for good in the pages of New Avengers, thanks to the efforts of Roberto DaCosta, aka Sunspot. And now Avengers Idea Mechanics (the New Avengers) is becoming American Intelligence Mechanics (the U.S.Avengers) for reasons that will only become clear in the series itself.

The unlettered preview features inevitable villain the Golden Skull, as well as high-flying action with Cannonball, Squirrel Girl, and Iron Patriot. The new Iron Patriot is New Avengers supporting character Dr. Toni Ho, and the team also features Captain America 20XX, a future version of Luke Cage and Jessica Jones' daughter Danielle Cage. Also Red Hulk has a mustache, which honestly he always should have.

U.S.Avengers #1 is written by Al Ewing, with art by Paco Medina, and comes out January 4.
